About Andy
Hi! I'm Andy Millar, and I have been teaching guitar and bass since 2018.
My own musical journey began in secondary school when a guitar playing friend of mine encouraged me to buy a bass-guitar so we could start a band together. By the time school finished, the band wasn't as rich and famous as our teenage minds had hoped - but I knew I wanted to play music for the rest of my life.
I began taking on students while at university in 2018 and I have loved encouraging others and teaching them how to improve. After 5 years of studying music and with 4 years experience teaching it to others, I made this website to cohesively display what I have to offer to anybody I teach.
What I stand for as a teacher:
I believe music lessons should be fun, motivating and inspiring.
I believe music lessons should give the student a lifelong appreciation for music alongside the skills they learn on their instrument.
I continute to hone my own skills on the guitar and bass to ensure I am always improving and using my own musical skills in bands, recording music for others and just for fun.
I believe catering to each student's needs, keeping in mind their own personality and music they like is essential to delivering a fun and effective teaching experience.
